Bodegas Tenegía is ser in the small municipality
of Fuencaliente among houses and pine forest, with its vineyards
climbing the slopes of the volcanoes. Nowadays, it is part of the
local landscape.
Throughout history volcanoes have deposited cinders on the lands
of Fuencaliente, covering the countryside with a black mantle that
absorbs the nightly moisture. Teneguía was the last volcano
to erupt, in 1971.
Low rainfall and long hours of sunshine are typical of the local
climate, with its mild temperatures, helping the grapes to develop
and ripen.
